studio pottery figurine mark

hi, does anyone recognise this studio pottery mark on this great figurine(6.5 inches)

I’ve come across the mark several times but not managed to ID it. Might be Northern European?

its a shame because hes quite well done, but hes not gonna have a lot of value without a good name behind him

must of been having a better day of it when they made mine, cause im not to fond of those !!

They were unknowns found in the U.K.

i think the mark is JR now
