More exactly: "Carstens Luxus" range.
I tried to find one with a label and found this one on an ended ebay auction of a peacock:

Does someone know the name of the decor and the year of production?
Hi!
Decor name is Manila, made in the 1960s, can't tell you the exact year when it was designed/published.
Regards
Micha

Lava glaze disc-shaped vase, Austria mark - Carstens?
Disc shaped vase with lava glaze, white clay, 21.5 cm high, 22 cm wide.
Base impressed "4372-22 Austria".
I have seen quite of few of these disc vases over the past years, but this one was the nicest so far (most are just plain brown)
I have read that Carstens had a factory in Austria, and that this production was marked "Austria" instead of "Germany".
I see a lot of these Carstens Austria vases here at carboots and fleamarkets ("Ankara"- and similar patterns).
But this particular shape doesn't seem to exist with a Germany mark, and I don't know about the white clay...
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Carstens Tonnieshof
I'm pretty sure it was also made in germany , it looks a lot like their studio range , possibly Gerda Heuckeroth.

Re: Carstens Tonnieshof
Thanks again.
Searching for Carstens Keramik, Gerda Heuckeroth, or the pattern nr. 4372 doesn't bring up anything...
On the other hand I have seen around 20 of these vases in Vienna during the past years. Seem to be really Austrian bound :-)

Re: Carstens Tonnieshof
Well as Carstens were made in south america , austria , germany and australia , maybe they did only have certain forms for areas but that doesn't seem like good business .

5 x Carstens Tönnieshof 1512-14
They look very similar to Sawa 347-20, but smaller and no sgraffito. Red clay though, like Sawa. See the other thread.
