In the 1960s when Bernard rented a space in Greenwich from Alan Wallwork he secured a contract with a department store in Bromley, Kent called Dunn's to supply lampbases (alongside a lampshade supplier). Therefore the lampbase would have been from that time and the ones that I have seen with the teak surrounds have had both rectangular and square tiles.

bernard rooke - Bernard Rooke - Page 2 Newlap15 bernard rooke - Bernard Rooke - Page 2 Newlap16 Good morning , This is being posted with Bob Dawe in mind , recently found this piece and thought it looked very Dawe/Rooke like yet the stamp is like none i can find for either potter , so i would be extremely grateful if the man himself or anybody can perhaps id this mark for me ?? To me it looks like 2 initials ... B and ? , this is the clearest picture i could get too. Thank you ..

bernard rooke - Bernard Rooke - Page 2 Empty Studio Vase - Wallwork

Picked this up today at Malvern. Looks very much like Alan Wallwork - I have other Wallwork pieces with similar decoration but sadly no mark on this one. A second maybe?

They both did this sort of thing when Bernard rented the basement from Alan in Greenwich. The decoration often included letters from their surnames and that and the lack of a mark would mean that my money is on it being Bernard Rooke.

Well, I've written to the great man himself, but there's been no reply. Perhaps he was insulted that I thought this was one of his? But, really, those little wheel-type things say Rooke to me. What do you think?

Apologies to Rooke if it is one of his, but it looks too amateurish to me (not that I'm an expert or anything. Just going on comparison with pics on google & ebay).
If it's a real Rooke it should have an impressed ROOKE mark somewhere on the side.

I have a quite a few of bernard rookes pieces , some do look a bit amateurish but that's part of there appeal , early pieces were not mark and some had just an incised BR, FWIW I think it is Rooke .
