Re: Bernard Rooke
Yes, my apologies. Looking through the early ones on Pottery Studio, they do look similar: http://www.studiopottery.com/cgi-bin/pp.cgi?item=2639

Yes, in fact the first one that appears in that link has exactly the same 'wheel' motif. Thanks, all – I feel rather sad that I hauled a piece like this out of the back of a charity shop for £2. It's a work of art.

Re: Bernard Rooke
Spotted this tall Bernard Rooke lamp base at Hungerford Arcade this morning. Was tempted, but at £85 it was beyond my price range.
Re: Bernard Rooke
Posted this in the Bernard Rooke thread, but I'll copy it here as it has the same star circles as your lamp.

a bit pricey for a moulded piece , I paid that for an original 6 piece lamp .

Re: Bernard Rooke
Ok, here's the Bernard Rooke frog vase I bought for £10 on Tuesday. Although I'm not sure why I called it a spill vase - brain too mashed from a disappointing fair I guess.
I've no idea when it dates from, but clearly after 1967. If the label gives anyone a clue I'd be pleased to know.

Re: Bernard Rooke
There is a clue on the label with the telephone number being written in that way rather than all numbers. I can't remember when that changed but thinking back it can't have been long after the date he moved to Suffolk.

A quick update.
I've had a reply from Aaron Rooke, who says this dates from around 1979.
Thanks Ed.

Re: Bernard Rooke
well I would lean towards it being handbuilt , I have had many Bernard rooke pieces over the years ,only got one big 6 piece lamp base now and that is an original 1965 ish , Emailing Bernard has always been very helpful or his son , the pieces although quite abundant are worth looking out for especially handbuilt ones .

Re: Bernard Rooke
Is that a lamp base Ed? not seen that shape before. I take it is a molded piece?
