Re: Cottees Poole Pottery Auction
I did have two absentee bids in but they were low bids so I presume I didn't get the items considering I haven't heard anything from Cottee's.

Re: Cottees Poole Pottery Auction
It's an auction for collectors so prices are always high.
Freeform was particularly selling for top money; there was a telephone bidder and a commission bidder forcing them up. Worked for me because I was selling a couple of pieces and they went for more at auction than I had failed to sell them for retail
Delphis didn't do so well this time though.

Re: Cottees Poole Pottery Auction
the November catalogue is out and there are a few pieces with low estimates that sold a few years ago for big bucks

I bet the woman who refused the 80 quid for 6 Poole items is happy!!!

Re: Cottees Poole Pottery Auction
the May 2014 catalogue is out - there seems to be very little Delphis available (unsuprisingly) - there are a few nice studio pieces but nothing spectacular ...

Re: Cottees Poole Pottery Auction
come and buy me estimates again this year, if the pots sell anywhere close to those prices there will be some very happy buyers at Cottees this month!
I'll have a punt on 9 lots.
