Re: Gordon Ottewell, Skegness Pottery
The 3rd Edition of the British Studio Potters' Marks book, by Yates-Owen and Fournier, edited by James Hazlewood is still the best.
Also the BISPM website of British and Irish studio pottery marks

Gordon Otterwell
I am a personl friend of Gordon Otterwell. He was the founder and owner of the Skegnness Pottery. John Poutney was his partner and they shared the business interests of Segness Pottery which was previously the Ford dealership in Skegness. John was a pianist and entertainer, Gordon was the potter. The Pottery employed a number of people but Gordon's personal work was always signed with a stylised "GO" or "Gordon Otterwell". All Skegness pottery was signed with a stylised SP. At the time of writing John Poutney is deceased and Gordon is now in a care home. The Church Farm Museum in Skegness has a small collection of Gordon's personal work.
