Re: Amphora (Austria & Czechoslovakia)
Then personally I'd have thought it was "right" but would think it is later in date than the dealer thought.
Hopefully someone on here who knows more than me will give there thoughts.
Please don't take my word for it though, as this is only a personal opinion.
Regards,
Potty.

Richard L.Scott, Ceramics from The House of Amphora 1890 - 1915, 2004
"Table no.5, Amphora Czechoslovakian marks: Very little research has been conducted into these marks as they are outside the period of this book"
The oval mark on the base identical with mark AM-51 colored stamp "Est. date of origin ca.: After 1918" (p.326)
There are other "Imperial Amphora" marks "Made in Czechoslovakia"
dated after 1925 and after 1932
BTW "Imperial Amphora" marks post 1896
"In 1896 Amphora was awarded the title of court supplier to the Imperial court in Vienna, which included the right to use the Austro-Hungarian eagle in the compamy´s trademark" (p.322)

Re: Amphora (Austria & Czechoslovakia)
Marked: Czecho-Slovakia or a variation with a hyphen may mean it was manufactured from 1918 to 1938 and 1990 to 1993, though the name was also spelled without a hyphen during these times.

It can! The form number 15 622 would indicate that it was designed between 1905 and 1910. I have a cachepot form number 15 076 marked with the crown. Made in Austria.

Hi, Had this vase a while and can find out all the basic info on the Amphora Austrian vases but there is very little on the artists of these pieces. Does anyone know more about the designer of this piece?

Amphora, Austria. Probably a Paul Dachsel
I am wondering if anyone can help to identify this unusual grey matte vase with triangular pearl glazed decoration. Vase has the numbers 11 19 and 12 on bottom and appears to have some other markings under the glaze. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Unusual Imperial Amphora female figure signed Vogt
Hello
I'm really interested if anyone can tell me more about this Imperial Amphora figure I acquired recently. It came to me from a family whose relative was in Austria in the 1910s. Signed Vogt, Wien and I think it's an Imperial Techinical School work. Height 29cm. The treatment is interesting, he is doing Social Realist Impressionism, not the usual fantasy creations of the Art Nouveau. And the glaze/decoration is imitating patinated metal. Does anyone know of any other pieces by Vogt or any biography.

I want to say Longwy (France) 1900-1920 even though that base looks very Japanese. If it is them the pattern will be amongst the millions on google to view.

Re: Amphora (Austria & Czechoslovakia)
Cheers :) I hadn't thought Japanese but that foot rim and brick brown colour might point to it. Otherwise maybe a Torquay ware piece?
Edited: Most likely Czech Amphora
