This vase is quite well marked, although the round mark in the centre is quite hard to read, and I haven't been able to find out anything useful via google about that or the numbers. The two lozenge shaped marks say AMPHORA and AUSTRIA.

If you google 'Amphora Teplitz' you will find all the info you need, I think.

Do you know if there is some sort of directory of their marks hiding anywhere? I've been rummaging with no success.

Oh ... I thought there were quite a few references under 'Amphora Teplitz' ... I also tried 'Amphora Austria' and found a number of references there - using Images I found a number of marks and other pictures of theirs ... they may be worth following up - even the dealers sites can give a bit of useful info ...

SL Touchdry advice seems good. Check out some of the items on ebay listed as Teplitz, Amphora. Some have similar marks to yours.

Think yours is Royal Amphora - Not a lot out in English you can read about Amphora. There is only one book I am aware of and that is Monsters and Maidens Amphora. Long out of print and very expensive. It was a widely collected area in  America about 20 years ago with prices to match the best. Yours appears to be a shape I have seen before just with different applied decoration (the changed around a bit). Its a good range to collect if you have the mind, prices in the UK are now low and the quality is high. Pretty much all of it you see was made between 1900 and 1917.
