the early colours are so much better than those used in the late 60s and 70s

Just a little Delphis shape 42 dish in standard 1970s colours, but the glazes applied rather thinly, with unusual subtlety.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
yes Julia Wills worked mainly on the Aegean range which was far more subtle

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
I bought this on impulse, not my style but there was something about it. Up until tonight it has been packed away and forgotten. Still unidentified.....Not any more, the camera never lies. I thought that there appeared to be 2 initials so I was trying to get a picture for I.D. instead I got this (top right corner of the base.)
Yep Poole. I have looked it up and I know it is from the Aegean range. But I am unsure of the potter/artist? There appears to be two letters in a lighter colour on the base I think they are TH but not sure.

Poole Black Pebble. I believe it was designed by Robert Jefferson

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
friend at work just gave me this - his wife's mother was Jacky Botterill a decorator at Poole in the 70's ?
It has a couple of nicks but it looks unusual, strange shape, no signature or type marking. Anyone know more?

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
we have a few examples on this thread but that one is the best decoration I have seen on a packet of crisps vase

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
That's a good vase.
I have never heard of Jacky Botterill. She is not on any painters list or even a "known unknown". Would your friend be able to get any more details - dates; what she worked on; who she worked with ... and most importantly, how she signed her work?
Us Poolies are always interested in tracking down ex-employees and the Collectors Club would also be pleased to hear from her.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Yes I need to ask. Looking at this one, Jacky deserves some credit. Note I'm not 100% this one is hers. It's not signed, and she could have got it from someone else. I can but ask with any luck I'll get back a set of photos of some more pieces with marks etc...

My only piece of Poole Sienna is this vase pattern number 580, with what appears to be three letters MIR???
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
ah the infamous Min monogram!
it has been top of the unknown Poole pottery paintress' list for over a decade and we are no closer to solving the puzzle

1974 Studio plaque designed by Robert Jefferson, although he had been working on studio for almost 4 years this Spring Collection was the first true declaration of intent which lead to the Studio section and eventually the Delphis Range
