Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Yes.... but they don't have a fake stamp do they! that makes them rare!
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
He told me via ebay messages that he had relisted it. I told him to bin it as it should be taken out of circulation. Also the reference to the 'clear backstamp' in the original listing seems a little too obvious and I wouldn't trust the seller.

sorry they are all large but i will work out how to do thumbnail pictures.
both 10.5" studio plates . the darker one is the later studio mark for 1964-66. the other is the early 1962-64 studio mark but also has the triangular tool mark.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
the one on the left seems influenced by Tony Morris' town planning designs

Very impressive Lee ... there's some great Poole stuff being posted on here in the last few weeks, so obviously it's out there if you are prepared to look around ...

It is by Tony Morris without a doubt. He left many unsigned.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
but some of the girls who worked alongside Tony were 'heavily influenced' by his designs, several piece like this have been presented to Tony by hopeful Tm collectors looking for provenance of only to be refuted

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
The back also has an impressed triangle near the rim used on trial pieces. That would make the attribution more likely.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
I've had this one for a few years. 8" with TV backstamp also unsigned.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Here are another couple of chargers from my Poole Studio collection (1964-66) 14" and 10". The larger one is by Robert Jefferson and is pictured in Andrew Casey's book 20th Century Ceramic Designers (page 328).
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
wow I have drooled over the pic in that book for year, well done!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
I've had it for about 15 years. I think the influence was drawings/prints by Henry Moore.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
the book state probably by Jefferson, did you confirm this?

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
The person I bought it from was a consultant for the book. He had previously shown it to Tony Morris who had said it was one of Robert Jefferson's pieces.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
good enough for me

I reckon that the impressed triangle is simply Guy's mark.

I think I have a Poole Studio Onion Vase #9 -- would appreciate any info!
So I bought this vase, it seems to be an onion vase shape #9 from the early or mid 1960s. Yet it looks different than most of the pictures of other such I've seen. The glaze is rough, and it stands a tiny bit over 5" high, and is around the same in widest diameter. Thanks in advance for any additional info you might give me. :)

Squash...looks nice, one of the Poolies will comment soon, be aware that this post may get moved. Look for it in the Poole thread there are several so if this post seems to have been deleted it's not - they just have to keep things tidy.
