Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Ionian is "enamelled". This doesn't look like Ionian at all.
I have seen Aegean mis-marked as Ionian, and vice-versa.
I would guess some sort of trial piece?

Well I do like a mystery. I wonder if this was painted as a trial piece to have the enamel overlaid. For sure its still a nice thing though.

Yes it is, a very nice design.
I wonder if it was just a blank, that had aleady been stamped as Ionian?

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
First post and a request for assistance, sorry. Hopefully, I can return the favour.
I've come into possession of this Delphis bowl but can't get a positive match on the marking underneath. It seems like a "Q" or a very rapidly done "GT" (Gillian Taylor) but I'm not convinced. Might "Q" indicate something other than the painter - e.g. denoting a "second", perhaps?
Many thanks in advance for any wise words from the undoubted experts here!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
It is not immediately obvious whose mark it is. It is certainly a 1970's piece, I am not aware that there was a special mark for seconds. Could be lynn gregory. My only advice would be - don't worry too much about paintresses. Good definition of colours and good firing come first - in my opinion, not that my opinion may count for much.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
The first of the three is by Jean Millership. Nice colours!
Can't work out the other 2.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
2nd is probably Josephine Wall

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
I thought they looked a bit pricey. Thankfully I only took photos of them.

Based on medieval 'labours of the months' and designed to resemble stained glass, an edition of 1000 of each month. They used to sell for around £100 ea but are currently out of fashion so tend to be around 30/35 on ebay.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
I once saw one at the house of a very discerning Poole collector, he prized it quite highly
