Yes all well and good. Nicely modelled, you do feel they were real people. I think that was a good buy. Don't knock him over!

Is he going to be rare because he’s so big I have looked on internet but can’t find anything like him . Should I take him to my local antiques shop to get him valued?

I doubt they would know as none have sold at auction recently

I've seen one recently somewhere - We don't give valuations, it's not vastly valuable, they are not as highly collected as they were.

Could this have been a one off exhibition piece?
Some Chelsea collectors would be falling over their selves to buy this. £45 is a bargain.

I have this Chelsea Pottery footed dish but unable to find who the initials belong to, which looks like a VW or AM. Any info much appreciated.

So another early owl. This one has been on EB a while and since I've not bought much recently and he dropped in price...

Strange one. Lot of work as he's not molded but hand-built. Feathers are full of texture. Strangely I thought he was only six inches high but he's well bigger as you can see. Also as much work has gone into the back as the front. The glaze looks almost wood fired? But I assume not? Also he has a big hole in the base and the eyes are cut out and someone has bothered  to paint the inside and leave two eyes? Perhaps he as meant to have a light inside?   Unusual

Not sure what that is, is that a clear glaze on top?

not your run of the mill Chelsea, the sort of piece that was found when Joyce Morgan's estate was auctioned

Ill get a permanent red light in him so when I get home he's waiting on the shelf with glowing eyes

Lead in the glaze. Often found in yellow, brown and green glazes, before it was banned. Gives a rich depth to the colour, and an almost oily sheen to the surface

After looking at Kim Warman I can see the mark is KW and the closest I have found is Karen Ann Wood who was based in Kent 1978-2001 and then Australia from 2001 to current.
