Bitossi
Hey all, I'm new to the forum, and I want to let everyone know how much I love it!! All the posts, everyone is SO helpful!! I was recently given a Rosenthal Netter vase, and I'd like to know more about it... Like when it was made, how much it might be worth, all that jazz. And any other information would be great. I've done many searches, but I can't find much on it. I don't think I'm doing the right kind of searching. On the sticker on the bottom it's marked 242/4. It's about 9 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide. It weighs 2.5 pounds. Thanks so much for your time, I'm looking forward to learning more about my new treasure!!
~Katie~
I thought I'd be able to put the pic on here, but I didn't do it right, here's the link. Thanks again!!

Re: Bitossi (Italy)
Rosenthal Netter were US importers of Italian pottery, mainly from Bitossi. We had another one on here recently if you do a bit of searching. I don't know exact dates but 1950's - 1970's sounds about right.
The numbers are probably a stock code, they don't follow the usual European shape / size format.
We don't see many in the UK but I don't think value will be huge, maybe $20-$30.

Bitossi dish or wishful thinking?
I bought this small dish (14 cms square) thinking that it could be by Bitossi. Is this me being hopeful? Any suggestions as to origin and date of manufacture much appreciated. John

Hi is the Ram an old one. or does the impressed mark mean it is one of the more recent limited editions?

This is a recent piece, bought in Capri in 2004, although I believe it's a 60's design. I think they still use this mark.

another Bitossi question white lampbase
Is this Bitossi? I have come across a picture of an identical lampbase searching the web that says it is but no other information on the site. would just like to confirm that it is.
It has no other identifying marks other than the series number, height and Italy. I did have a read on the excellent site on Bitossi ceramics and my gut feeling is that it is.
Is this an early piece or an export piece because it doesn't have the Bitossi B or mark? The impressed design on the base is not very uniform, glazed base and a substantial weight.
Thanks
Barb

Re: Bitossi (Italy)
Just picked this up in a charity shop - first bit of what I think is Bitossi - anyone confirm that - it has Italy to base and some numbers, it is 10" high.
Thanks Adam

Londi Bitossi or not?
I know there were quite a few colourways around, and I know that some were unmarked (like this one). But do we think this is really Bitossi, or something else? It's a good heavy piece of pot, and the glaze is nice.

NOT Bitossi?
Just because it looks like Bitossi, doesn't mean it is by Bitossi.
This vase was bought by a tourist 15yrs ago from an established family pottery in Sardinia and is stamped on the base Sardartis Castelsardo.
Bitossi is part of the much larger Gruppo Colorobbia which supplies the same clays and oxides used by Bitossi worldwide, so anyone can produce their own Bitossi-style range of ceramics if they wished.

The vase shape, colouring and heaviness of the stamped decoration looks German to me.
