I paid quite a bit for this vase cos I loved it when I saw it.
I really like this vase and is one of the ones I've paid most for, but would like to know the factory who made it so I can search out some more to go with it, cheers Nik

Re: Scheurich Keramik
Scheurich bottle vase, circa 1972, decorated with the famous Montignac decor, that was inspired by the prehistoric cave paintings found near Lascaux in France.
Front and back are decorated with animals, the sides are covered with brown, bubbling lava glaze.
The base is marked with the scheurich form number 281-30 and w germany
Would be interesting to know, who designed this range?

Re: Scheurich Keramik
If I understand this right, if it says schreurich keramik on the base it's made after 1980?

Re: Scheurich Keramik
If it says Scheurich it does indicate a later piece , probably 80's same with the three circles mark .

Re: Scheurich Keramik
Trying again...
Scheurich 411-18. I think this is 1960s. Was it designed by A. Seide? It reminds me of Wien series shapes.

Thanks Lavalad, and welcome
I'll archive this in a bit. Any thoughts on the spray painted theory?

Re: Scheurich Keramik
Factory seconds may have been sold to be refinished for other purposes. I have found a number of Scheurich QC "rejects" painted over with this same type of coating. We bought a piece out of curiosity and cleaned it up. The glaze was so bad I tossed it.
Has anyone else seen these items?

Re: Scheurich Keramik
Bought today large Vase I think is Scheurich - 15" tall and very heavy - lava glaze with red flame like shallow goudges into body - looking at Mark Hill's 'Fat Lava' pp133 to pp135 and this could be 'Lora' series -the main glaze is black green and blue dripped all over.
Any help appreciated.
