Bertoncello (Italy) - Page 6 Empty Bertoncello, Italy

Post by tristram175 Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:42 pm

Good afternoon,
can anyone please tell me who´s the maker of this vase which looks like a Bertoncello but has an intertwined RR at the bottom.
Thanks

Looks right to me. The label could be the retailer

Thanks, the label is the retailer, but beneath that -hard to see -are two R´s, one atop the other. They are hard to see but are done in relief.
That´s what they look like:

They are for the designer Roberto Rigon

somebody on another forum thought this was a Roberto Rigon design

another person thought it was Sica

there seem to be several Bertoncello experts on this site who I hope will comment Clap

We had a Bertoncello collector on the forum some years ago but he hasn't visited us for several years.
I had a pot with the same glaze and design which he identified as Bertoncello but nobody but him has ever linked it with Bertoncello or Rigon...
Was the person who told you called Ed?

thanks for the comment

this person was not Ed but good that a couple people feel it is Bertoncello

I looked at several Sica pieces and none I saw seemed to have these sharp geometrical lines like many Rigon pieces and the red glaze seems to be close to old photos on this site under the poster Pip

After looking back on that thread, there are several pieces that have similar design, I would contact  Danny to be certain

Hi brought this recently I know it's Bertoncello but no idea what it is, or is it just abstract pottery. Under the sticker underneath seems like there is a number 1, if that is any help, does anyone have any ideas as all searches on the internet have come to nothing and cannot find anything similar. Thanks. Jim.Bertoncello (Italy) - Page 6 Img_2016

A lot of Bertoncello pieces are abstract so just 'Ceramic Art' I guess

Thanks for response. The wife has suggested a candle holder, but who knows, especially with all their records being destroyed when they closed in 1999.
