Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
More from my cabinet. This ones getting a bit full but there's nothing I want to take out at the moment!
Recent additions are the two 10" dishes centre bottom. Left centre is a Delphis dish 1966 - 1969, probably Shirley Campbell, which has some of the best colours I've seen, particularly the blue which often burnt to black. Right centre is a Tony Morris studio piece 1964 - 1966, not signed but claimed by Tony in the 1990's.

i see you have a small selection of Joyous pottery too, is that part of a larger collection? i've had a few pieces over the years, but never built up a collection for myself
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
Thanks all.
The Joyous is all I have (well, there are 5 pieces, one's hidden). I have just picked up some pieces when I have seen them really, partly because of the Poole connection and partly because I just like it. The Uranium orange is probably radioactive mind you

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
Thank you everyone :)) whose are the A B E initials? I can't seem to find them anywhere?
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
I don't think they relate to a person Lynne, more likely they are a pattern code for the tree design but I'm sure Gareth will know

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
Yes, ABE is the pattern code. All the Dorset collection were AB something, not sure why. The patterns also came in different base colours with the same pattern code.
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
Ah! that explains it then! No wonder I couldn't work out who it was Thank you Gareth!
Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
I left £130 on it, it was lovely but didnt peg it anywhere near £460 hammer!
I did however buy the Atlantis Lamp Base at Elliots, along with the Sydenham piece also there which is one of the rather rare pieces which was in the pool of the water feature :) Lamp base £28 hammer, but better is the GS piece for £40 hammer!!!!!!
Got a stunning pin dish at Alexandra Palace on Sunday as well
Also got a paperweight (yeah i know borrrrinngggg!!!) for £40 which is worth over £100, so worth going to :)
Now, Dan, if you want any help with a new forum you mention give me a shout, happy to help. Really disappointed the so called collectors club has taken another step backwards and removed the old public forum. Cant see any reason at all to join again.....
While Im here, thought I do a few collection photo's as I was on my photobucket anyway :) So enjoy....

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
Hi, there are grooves in them. They were made especially for the purpose along with a load for my paperweights. I dont have them tacked in yet, but do have museum tack waiting until Im totally happy with the order and which plates are up. I have anoht 50 or so in the loft, mostly studio, some exceptional delphis though.

Help please with a Poole vase?
Hi. Can anyone help please with any information on this Poole vase? I love the pattern but don't know anything about it. It is marked on the base Poole England, and then 84 and a hand incised initial which is possibly a C containing an L or h. Thanks!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
It's an Aegean range vase thrown by Carol Kellet (nee Cutler) I can't quite see who decorated it as the pic is quite dark

That's great thanks- can you tell anything about the date? I'll try and post another pic of the base but it is difficult to get it much clearer!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
To the left of the main group of markings there is a rough marking which may be an E or sideways M or W? This is all I can see - it is just about apparent in the photos, but I am not sure if it an initial or just a mark in the glaze.

Delphis shape 41 painter mark
I bought these two 41's and I think that the first is by Carol Cutler, but the other the mark is very similar to those used by both Lyn Gregory and Gillian Taylor. Could anyon ID this please. Thanks John

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part One
I wondered where you have all gone to! It took me some time to find out where the "public" site of the collectors club had gone to. So much history as well.
We have moved recently so bigger house and less display space, (dont understand this), but will upload recent purchases asap.
Dan - like your purchases but think I may be able to trump you on a couple of pieces!!
Good to know you are still all active on the Poole front!

I hope to be able to provide a bit of Aegean input but despite the size of my collection I am still learning myself!
