Re: Eric Leaper
He is a potter I want to find a little more about, when I get chance.
I was told that his wild parties could be heard from miles away, though I do not know how much truth there is to that statement, but from little I have heard he sounded like a great character.

Re: Eric Leaper
Yes, it is a bit chocolatey from a distance, rather scrummy.
It seems, from my limited experience of his work, quite an understated piece.

Re: Eric Leaper
That is an absolute beauty, surprised you parted with it.
Been having a trawl through Leaper listings on ebay and found a set of 6 Newlyn plates
I would say that I am amazed they haven't been snapped up, though pottery prices really do seem to be going lower & lower by the day. Still an absolute bargain though

Re: Eric Leaper
I think they are the wrong colour. Collectors prefer Leaper’s bright glaze colours rather than his browns and oranges. And his flatware isn’t as collectible as his animals

Re: Eric Leaper
Not as collectible, but at that sort of money they are a huge bargain. I remember paying around the £20 mark for single flatware pieces some years ago.

Re: Eric Leaper
Ooh you jammy dodger.
It makes perfect sense now. To be honest, I would have done a straight swop on those, with or without the cash, the second one is even better than the first for me. Were I to pick that up I would never put it down, looks very tactile. Do you know who it is by?
