Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
Denby "Tibet ware" 1930s. Never marked Denby.
The colours look a bit off, so it could well be a second.
Check the Denby thread for other examples.

Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
Maybe it was a trial piece that never went into production. The shape looks a little unusual for Denby. So maybe the making or glaze costs did not make it economic? The printed mark is a 1930 onwards one up to a little after WW2.

Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
Thank you both, nice to know my instincts were correct for a change! The colours, particularly the blues, look a little paler to the eye in natural light, and as stated there are a several faults in both the glaze and structure.

Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
It's Denby "Majolica" ware, usually unmarked apart from the thrower/turner marks.
Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
Never seen anything like that. It is rather nice.

Re: Denby Pottery (Derbyshire)
Many Art potteries used this shape, very often seen on Torquay and Brannam pieces.
Not sure who first used it though.
