I saw another one of these plaques today,it had the Giraud mark on the back,I wish I had bought the first one I saw for £30.00

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
Right, it's a Max's piece.
He married Marius MUSARRA's daughter.
Now, it's retired as a potter and he continue as a sculptor.

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
I tried to translate a description of the Gerbino process, the translation is a little rough but you get the basic idea
the process "Gerbino" combines various techniques of mosaic and nériage (mixture of colourful land). Clay (earthenware) are coloured in the mass by oxides. These clays are assembled to form drawings flat. Thus made plates are formatted in a mould. After drying, the piece is cooked a first time, covered with enamel lacquer then cooked twice.

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
these look a little older than marius Bessone but could be early pieces he is mostly known for his volcanic glazes that he breveted(franglais) in 1958 tho by that time lots of people seemed to be doing it

Thanks Tenpot. They seem a bit flowery maybe for Marius Bessone, but I just don't know. Interesting if they are early pieces though. I shall scan the t'internet now to find out more, if it is out there.
Thanks again.

Re: Vallauris (South of France)
probably Cerrene someone gave me these knew I collected Vallauris but I would never have bought them oh well another box in the shed
oddball jug to identify = ID: Vallauris (France)
Here is the other post, a weird shape and pattern. I have not included any pics of the base because there is nothing on it visible due to heavy brown overglaze. It is roughly 10 inches tall, brown glaze internally and gold gilt to the spout, handle and front.
I have an inkling it is european but would welcome anything from you all
Much obliged

Earthenware tankard - help with ID please
Can anyone help with identification of this tankard, please. It measures about 6.5 inches high, about 3 inches diameter, of some kind of earthenware, with a glazed almost textured exterior and a hand painted floral design, with the painted mark to the base. Many thanks in advance.
